Here are some ideas on how to run your own purse party:
- Start with friends and family. Have them invite 15 to 20 friends to their home for a party. The hostess provides the coffee and cake or other refreshments.
- Arrange your assortment around the house in an appealing fashion. We generally recommend that you have a minimum of 24 handbags and some matching wallets at the party. accessories, such as watches and jewelry, are also a great way to generate sales. The merchandise we provide generally comes pre-ticketed with tags and suggested retail price. The suggested retail is usually 2-3 times your wholesale cost, so the profit potential is excellent.
- Assist your guests in knowing more about the bags, and ask the hostess to help you. Remember, this is a cash and carry venue. No ordering for your customers means no shipping costs.
- Provide the hostess with 10-15% of the sales you made at the party. This percentage should be from the sales of merchandise at the retail price. For example, if you sell $500 at the party, the hostess will earn $50-$75 in retail priced merchandise, this will cost you only about $17-425. Your profit on a party like this would be about $300!
- Book your next party at a local event! This is the best way to network! Offer a free accessory to the participants if they book a party that night (they get the accessory at their party) in addition to their regular 10-15% in retail merchandise.
- Talk to your local religious or charitable groups in the area. They often have events at which you can sell handbags and give a percentage to the organization.
